Right on the Gold Coast beachfront, the Sheraton Grand Mirage in Main Beach is the perfect place for a relaxing staycation, which is why I decided to check in to celebrate the New Year and my Birthday with my loved ones.
Our stay began with a warm reception and a lovely champagne on arrival.
We booked a ground floor Garden View King Room which had a lovely outdoor patio where we enjoyed a room service breakfast in the sun one morning.
The pool area is right on the beach so you have the option to go between the ocean & the pool. We spent most of our time relaxing by the pool and taking advantage of the swim up bar.
The French Riviera inspired Lillet pop-up bar by the pool was such a beautiful surprise to find when we checked in! They served delicious & refreshing cocktails & also offered some Mediterranean dishes for lunch that only added to the Euro Summer vibe.
We had delicious salads for lunch by the pool and later enjoyed a cocktail at the Pearl Bar with a beautiful view of the pool & ocean.
True to our routine, each morning started with a beach walk & a coffee from the hotel lobby. It is only a 15-20 minute stroll along the beach and up into Tedder Avenue to one of our favourite cafes, Hot Shott.
Our go-to dishes are the Eggs Benedict & the Shakshuka. The cold brew coffee is fantastic too!
Just across the road at Marina Mirage we enjoyed a beautiful sunset dinner at La Luna’s restaurant Mare. We ended up booking the last available table for there New Years Eve party the next night while we were there, which I will do a seperate blog post for soon!
The hotel offered a nightly turn down service & gifted a bottle of champagne and bowl of cherries with a Birthday card which was a sweet touch.
To celebrate my Birthday we walked across for another sunset dinner (it is honestly the most beautiful time to go for dinner at any restaurant in Marina Mirage), this time at our long time family favourite Omeros Bros.
The Sheraton was truly a beautiful place to welcome in the New Year & to celebrate my Birthday, and is a go-to for a relaxing staycay. Its picturesque setting and great location allowed us to completely unwind without the need to drive anywhere during our stay.
If you are looking for a resort to stay on the Gold Coast, you won’t find anything quite like the Sheraton Grand Mirage!
